MEET THE BUILDING BRIDGES TEAM! :o)
About Us
Hi there, I'm Mary and I'm the Sibling Support Worker at Hope House. I have been working at Hope House since the beginning as a member of the care team and have been sibling support worker since 2004. I work with all siblings whatever their age, who either have a brother or sister using Hope House or who have experienced a traumatic death of someone close to them. I offer one to one support and also work with groups of children and young people. I have a variety of parts to my job, including, fun activities, offering advice & support, just having quiet time or undertaking bereavement work. If you would like to contact me then my e-mail is: mary@hopehouse.org.uk
Hello there - I'm Andrea and I am one of the Social Workers - I used to work with Social Services, and came to Hope House in April 2006. My job is to support the children and families at Hope House in the best way possible. I have helped to organise and run Building Bridges groups with lots of different children since I have been at Hope House, as well working with the rest of the team to support bereaved children and families both at Hope House and in the community. You can contact me on - andrea@hopehouse.org.uk
Hi, I'm Lindy and I've been the social worker at Tŷ Gobaith since we opened in July 2004. I get involved in all kinds of things to help the children and families who come to TG, but a very important part of my job is to be here for any of the brothers and sisters of a child who comes to stay. I can spend time with siblings on their own - this can range from just getting to know each other and having fun (and then if you ever want to talk to someone hopefully it won't be too difficult), to more focussed time to provide support or to talk about anything that is worrying you or that you may be feeling unhappy about. We also organise fun activities for groups of siblings of different ages.
